Apple Health to ChatGPT bridge

HealthSource

Download HealthSource, grant read-only Apple Health access, sync your approved context, then choose HealthSource inside ChatGPT and ask what your vitals, sleep, recovery, and training history are saying.

01 HealthKit permission

The iPhone app asks Apple Health for read-only access.

02 HealthSource sync

The user sends only the approved health context snapshot.

03 ChatGPT app

ChatGPT reads HealthSource through a permissioned bridge.

Why this exists

AI cannot reason over health trends it cannot see.

Apple Health has the history. ChatGPT has the reasoning interface. HealthSource is the bridge that connects them deliberately: read-only HealthKit access, explicit sync, and a ChatGPT app that can read only the authorized HealthSource context.

Product flow

Install HealthSource. Grant Apple Health. Ask in ChatGPT.

HealthSource should not be another dashboard and it should not be a GPT wrapper. Its job is to make approved Apple Health context available to the AI assistant the user already wants to use.

01

Install HealthSource

The iOS app owns the HealthKit permission because Apple Health data is local to the device.

02

Grant read access

The user approves selected metrics such as HRV, sleep, resting heart rate, workouts, and vitals.

03

Sync to HealthSource

A deliberate sync action creates the latest authorized context snapshot for the bridge.

04

Select HealthSource in ChatGPT

The user asks normal questions about recovery, sleep, load, or physiological changes.

Context, not clutter

The bridge carries the signal ChatGPT needs.

HealthSource is designed around a constrained context contract: enough history for useful analysis, not a warehouse of raw health data.

HRVTrend and recovery signal
SleepDuration, stages, coverage
HeartResting and daily summaries
TrainingWorkouts, steps, active energy
VitalsRespiratory rate and oxygen saturation
Window30, 90, 180, or 365 days
Boundaries

A health context bridge, not medical software.

The app should make AI conversations more informed. It should not diagnose disease, prescribe treatment, sell data, or turn into a wellness dashboard.

Not a diagnosis tool

ChatGPT instructions must avoid diagnosis, treatment guidance, and medical certainty.

Not a dashboard

No charts for charting's sake. The interface exists to grant access, connect, and sync.

Not a tracking product

No analytics SDKs, advertising use, third-party tracking, or secondary use of HealthKit data.

Privacy model

Permissioned, minimal, user-initiated.

Read-only HealthKit HealthSource reads approved metrics and does not write back to Apple Health.
Explicit connect/sync The MVP should not silently upload health data in the background.
Minimum bridge state Account, payment, session metadata, and a replaceable authorized health snapshot only where needed.
No secondary use No resale, advertising use, third-party tracking, or broad health-data hoarding.
Current status

Submitted for Apple and OpenAI review.

HealthSource 1.0 is in Apple App Review, and the HealthSource ChatGPT app is in OpenAI review. The production bridge remains live for reviewer demo data, OAuth pairing, and read-only ChatGPT access to authorized health context.
